How do I update my payment method?
You can update the card on file for your subscriptions any time from your account.
Steps
- Sign in at petterm.com.
- Open My Account → Payment Methods.
- Click Add payment method to add a new card.
- Set the new card as your default if you want it used for all future subscription charges.
- Remove the old card if you no longer need it on file.
Any active subscription automatically uses your default payment method for future charges, so updating one card updates all subscriptions at once.
Multiple cards
You can keep multiple cards on file and choose a different one per subscription. From the subscription detail page, scroll to Payment and select which card to use.
What if a charge fails?
If your card expires or has insufficient funds when we attempt a recurring charge:
- We’ll email you with the failure and a link to update the payment method.
- We automatically retry the charge 3 days later, then 5 days after that.
- If the retry still fails, the order is paused until you update the payment method.
Your subscription isn’t canceled — just temporarily paused. Once you add a working card, sign in and click Resume on the affected subscription, or wait for the next scheduled cycle.

For Subscribe & Save (recurring), we currently support major credit cards and Shop Pay. PayPal subscriptions are coming — for now, use a card for recurring orders.
Security
We don’t store full card numbers on our servers — payments are tokenized via Shopify’s PCI-compliant payment infrastructure. Updating a card on our site is equivalent to updating it in any Shopify-powered store.
