Can you ship to a PO Box?
Table of contents
Yes. Petterm ships to PO Boxes via USPS.
How it works
When you enter a PO Box at checkout, the shipping options automatically filter to USPS-eligible services. The order is shipped USPS Ground Advantage (standard) or USPS Priority (expedited, where available).
What’s available
- Standard shipping to PO Box — 4–8 business days. Free over $50 or with Subscribe & Save (same threshold as residential).
- Expedited shipping to PO Box — sometimes not available depending on the destination zip code. If it’s not offered at checkout, that’s the reason.
What’s not available for PO Boxes
- UPS or FedEx delivery — these carriers don’t deliver to PO Boxes. If you select a non-USPS shipping option at checkout for a PO Box address, the order will be re-routed to USPS, which may delay it by a day.
Tracking PO Box orders
PO Box tracking works the same as residential tracking. You’ll get a tracking number in your shipping confirmation, and you can follow it on USPS’s tracking page or from your account.
The carrier’s “delivered” timestamp for PO Boxes typically reflects the moment the package was placed in the box, not when you collect it.
Military PO Boxes (APO/FPO)
APO/FPO addresses are technically PO Boxes but use a different routing system. Petterm doesn’t currently support APO/FPO addresses through our standard checkout. See Where do you ship? for details.
If you’re a service member who wants to order, email us — we’ll work out manual shipping until our storefront supports military addresses.
Common issues
- “Address not deliverable” — usually a typo. Check that you’ve entered the box number correctly (e.g., “PO Box 1234” not “1234”). USPS rejects malformed PO Box addresses.
- PO Box too small for the package — our jars and boxes are sized to fit a standard PO Box. If yours is small and the package can’t be deposited, USPS will leave a pickup notice for you to collect from the counter.
