My pet won't eat the supplement — any tips?

Petterm powders are nearly flavorless, so refusal is usually about texture or unfamiliarity rather than taste. Here’s what to try.

For the powders

Mix into wet food, not dry. Powder clumps when sprinkled on kibble. In wet food (or kibble moistened with broth or warm water), it dissolves and disappears.

Start with a smaller dose. If your pet is suspicious of any change to their food, give half the dose for 3–5 days while they get used to the new texture, then increase to the full sachet.

Mix in thoroughly. Stirring the powder evenly into the food (instead of leaving a visible powder pile on top) makes a real difference for cats especially.

Use a higher-value carrier. A teaspoon of plain wet food, plain Greek yogurt (for cats and dogs without lactose issues), or unsalted bone broth is enough to disguise the powder if regular food isn’t doing it.

For the soft chews

Offer from the hand, not the bowl. Most dogs treat a hand-offered chew like a high-value reward.

Pair with an activity. Give the chew right before a walk, training session, or favorite game. The association builds quickly.

Break it up. If the size is the issue, break the chew in half and tuck each piece into a small piece of food (cheese, a meatball, a banana slice).
