Muscle Gain Soft Chews dose by your dog’s body weight.

Daily dose

Dog weightDaily chews
Under 25 lb (under 11 kg)1 chew
25–50 lb (11–23 kg)2 chews
50–75 lb (23–34 kg)3 chews
75 lb+ (34 kg+)4 chews

How to split larger doses

For dogs taking 3–4 chews per day, splitting the dose across two servings is the cleanest approach:

  • 3 chews per day — 1 in the morning, 2 in the evening (or whichever order works for your routine).
  • 4 chews per day — 2 in the morning, 2 in the evening.

Splitting helps absorption (amino acids are most useful when delivered in smaller doses over time) and is easier on the digestive system in the first 1–2 weeks.

Building up gradually

For dogs new to muscle supplements:

  1. Days 1–3 — start at half the daily dose (round up for odd numbers; e.g., a 60-lb dog gets 2 chews instead of 3).
  2. Days 4–7 — full daily dose.

This 1-week ramp-up reduces the chance of any digestive adjustment.

Going above the dose

Don’t. The formula is calibrated to provide a meaningful amount of amino acids without overloading your dog’s protein needs (which can stress the kidneys, especially in senior dogs). More chews don’t build muscle faster — they just exceed what the body can use.

Working dogs and high-activity breeds

The dosage by weight is correct for active dogs too. The activity itself is what triggers muscle synthesis; the chews just provide the substrate. A working farm dog and a couch dog of the same weight get the same daily dose.
