Can my cat take Hairball Powder with other supplements?
Hairball Powder is safe to combine with most other supplements. The formula contains fiber and probiotics, so the only category that needs spacing is other fiber- or probiotic-heavy supplements.
Pairs cleanly with
- Petterm Tear Stain Powder — different active mechanisms (lutein + L-lysine for tear-stain; fiber + probiotics for hairball). Mix both into the same wet-food meal.
- Omega-3 fish oil supplements — different mechanism, no interaction.
- Joint supplements (glucosamine/chondroitin) — different mechanism, no interaction.
- Lysine paste/treats (for chronic upper-respiratory cats) — no interaction.
Needs spacing
- Other probiotic supplements — taking two probiotic products at once doesn’t double the effect, and can cause more digestive adjustment than needed. Pick one. (Most pet parents drop the other once they start ours, because the CFU count and strain mix is already calibrated.)
- High-fiber supplements (psyllium husk, additional pumpkin powder) — adding more fiber on top of the formula can cause loose stool. If your vet has prescribed extra fiber for a separate reason, ask whether to keep it.
Prescription medication
Hairball Powder is generally compatible with most cat medications. The fiber content can affect absorption timing of oral medications, so:
- Give the powder at one meal, and give pills 2 hours before or after that meal.
If your cat is on medication for thyroid, kidney, or heart conditions, mention the Hairball Powder to your vet at the next check-in so they can adjust if needed.
A simple rule of thumb
If a supplement targets a different system (joints, skin/coat, immunity), it pairs fine. If it overlaps with our active ingredients (probiotics, fiber), pick one and skip the other.
